Geralda van der Es always felt the need to create wherever life would take her. Her work is an expression of a newfound awareness of the connectedness with both her inner and outer world. A world that lies at the heart of who she is, curious, unfettered and wild. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her work we see the rhythm of nature caught in seemingly frozen moments, yet always moving, evolving and changing, oftentimes barely visible to the naked eye. Not fast, like in our contemporary world, but slow and deliberate; echoing through her detailed illustrations in a soft cadence that portrays her visceral world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspiration and guidance are found in locally sourced elements such as wood, seawater and beach charcoal, and are used to create the artworks ; the silent voice between nature and the artist. Her work reveals the fierceness in and around her, and the many ways nature teaches us to fully experience and gently navigate those wild spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I could live life anew it would not be any different. Who would I be if not for the journey I\u2019ve been on? Don\u2019t my questions arise from the tiny little steps I take on this path to a truer version of me? Every tree I touched, every forest that embraced me, every storm that engulfed me and every wave that saved me I feel a million times over today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life is an accumulation of big and tiny stories and I find them in my heart and the pulsing veins of our wild world. I am part of a bigger plan and I want to experience all that it has to offer. I simply have to be ready; the answers will find me.\u00a0And so, I fall, and get up, and dance, and smile, and cherish, and revere, and melt with her, drawing on the rhythm of nature, and my own breath, to root myself in a fast-paced life and still find freedom.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019essence cr\u00e9ative de G\u00e9ralda se puise dans les paysages sauvages. Dans la d\u00e9couverte de son univers , nous pouvons contempler le rythme de la nature, en apparence fig\u00e9 dans le moment, mais toujours en mouvement, \u00e9voluant et changeant de fa\u00e7on \u00e0 peine visible \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153il nu. Pas trop vite, \u00e0 l\u2019instar du monde dans lequel nous avan\u00e7ons, mais lent et m\u00fbrement r\u00e9fl\u00e9chi faisant \u00e9cho \u00e0 ses illustrations d\u00e9taill\u00e9es en une cadence douce d\u00e9peignant son for int\u00e9rieur.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019inspiration et l\u2019aide lui proviennent d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments locaux mis en avant dans ses \u0153uvres : cette voix silencieuse liant la nature \u00e0 l\u2019artiste. Son travail r\u00e9v\u00e8le la violence int\u00e9rieure et alentour, et les multiples inspirations de la nature pour nous apprendre \u00e0 vivre pleinement et naviguer en douceur dans ces espaces sauvages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c Si je pouvais revivre ma vie, elle ne serait en rien diff\u00e9rente. Qui serai-je sans le voyage que j\u2019ai entrepris ? Les questions que je me pose ne viennent-elles pas de tous ces petits pas que je fais vers une version plus vraie de moi-m\u00eame ? Chaque arbre que j\u2019ai touch\u00e9, chaque for\u00eat que j\u2019ai \u00e9treint, chaque temp\u00eate qui m\u2019a englouti et chaque vague qui m\u2019a sauv\u00e9e, je les ressens un million de fois ce jour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La vie est une accumulation de petites et grandes histoires que je ressens dans mon c\u0153ur comme dans les palpitations des veines de notre monde d\u00e9cha\u00een\u00e9. Je ne suis qu\u2019un \u00e9l\u00e9ment d\u2019un projet plus grand que moi dont je veux tout exp\u00e9rimenter : les r\u00e9ponses me trouveront. Et donc je tombe, me rel\u00e8ve, danse, souris, je ch\u00e9ris et je r\u00e9v\u00e8re cette nature et dessine \u00e0 son rythme et de ma propre respiration.
